Our client, a Major Canadian Financial Institution, has an immediate need for a programmer/analyst within its Prime Brokerage Division.

This position belongs to a development team that develops and supports various applications , mainly in the Prime Brokerage business. The incumbent will be responsible to develop and support  medium to fairly complex applications. He/She must be able to interact with various people like Business Analysts, Users, vendors, and Production Support Team. It is essential that the incumbent to be proactive, eager to learn, and to have a 'Can Do' attitude. The incumbent needs to carry support RIM in turn.

Work independently or within a team. Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is a must.

In-depth knowledge with SQL and relational databases, data analysis ability is preferred

Programming experience with Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server T-SQL is a must.

5 or more years of hands-on experience with both UNIX systems and MS Window is required.

2 or more years of development experience with UNIX shell scripting

Excellent on object oriented programming, 3 or more years of C# or Java programming and web application

Experience on Crystal report, ClearCase/ClearQuest, TIDAL job scheduler is an asset

Experience on data warehouse and ETL is beneficial

Production support experience is desired

Working knowledge with Prime Brokerage related softwares like Fund Manager and Netik will be an asset

Knowledge and experience with Security capital market will be beneficial

Knowledge and experience with Broadridge (ADP) is definitely an asset

Familiarity with MQ, Network, LAN and TCP/IP concepts, FTP/SFTP, security and communication protocol

Demonstrates advanced understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Quality Assurance requirements and software development control and release procedures
